One of Music on Magnolia's core values is that music is a social art, meant to be played together with friends and family. Our Performance Path empowers students to do exactly that. In our weekly music lessons, students are taught the skills they'll need to participate in our performances, encouraged to join a band, and embrace the new journey to the big stage.
For most performers, band rehearsals are their favorite part of our process. Instructors organize bands by age, instruments, and musical taste, striving to find a group of performers who love jamming together. The friendships formed in these rehearsals are the backbone of our studio, creating meaningful relationships between bandmates who stay motivated through each other's commitment and the ever-present upcoming gig.
Every 2 to 3 months, our student bands perform at some of San Antonio most iconic music venues. All students are encouraged to participate in the performances to get the full Music on Magnolia experience. After a few performances, student's confidence skyrockets as they begin to identify as a gigging musician and develop a setlist with their bandmates. It's not uncommon for students to have a few songs picked out several gigs ahead of time!
One of our programs ultimate goals is to help seriously passionate students evolve into professional musicians. These dedicated individuals or bands are handpicked by our instructors and are prepared to perform at a moment's notice. In addition to curating unique performance experiences to showcase these superstars, we regularly cultivate epic collaborations with local businesses to create professional opportunities in an effort to educate our students about careers in the music industry.
